Would you like to learn more about the treatment that has helped thousands of people enjoy straighter, more attractive teeth? Dr. Wayne Sutton, a dentist in Rohnert Park, answers the most frequently asked questions about  ClearCorrect here.

How does ClearCorrect work?

ClearCorrect is an advanced orthodontic system that uses a series of custom-created clear aligners to slowly shift teeth into the proper position and alignment. Each set of aligners is worn for about 22 hours per day for about two weeks, and then replaced with the next set in the series. Most patients wear about 20 to 30 sets of aligners total. The aligners are easily removed for eating, drinking and cleaning.

Does ClearCorrect treatment hurt?

ClearCorrect treatment does not hurt. The plastic is specially designed to fit snugly over the teeth without irritating the gums or the soft tissues of the mouth. There might be slight tooth sensitivity when switching to a new set of aligners, but it usually disappears within a few days.

Will ClearCorrect affect my speech?

You will be able to speak clearly while wearing your aligners. It might take a few days for your tongue and the muscles in your mouth to adjust to the aligners.

Will ClearCorrect affect my diet?

The aligners should be removed for all meals and snacks, and there are no dietary restrictions. You should not chew gum while wearing your aligners, as it can stick to the plastic.

How long does it take to see results with ClearCorrect?

The total length of treatment time depends on the individual patient and the circumstances of the case. On average, ClearCorrect patients complete treatment in about 12 months.

How long do the results of ClearCorrect last?

ClearCorrect results can last indefinitely with the proper care. Many patients are fitted for a special retainer to help maintain the results of ClearCorrect long-term.

How much does ClearCorrect cost?

The cost of ClearCorrect depends on how extensive the issues to be corrected are, as well as the specific course of treatment. Dr. Sutton can provide more detailed pricing information during a consultation at his practice.

How old do I have to be to get ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect is appropriate for adults and most teenagers. If your teen or pre-teen is interested in ClearCorrect, they should be evaluated by Dr. Sutton to determine whether ClearCorrect is the best course of treatment.
